When I began researching my family's history, I
started with my maternal Grandmother's family, the Sheakleys of Mercer Co.,
PA. The
genealogy website for Mercer County is maintained on Rootsweb by a
wonderful administrator, Teri, who has built one of the best county
genealogy websites in the country.
Much of my research was done in Mercer Co.
and I have a collection of reference material from that area. I am

In 2003, I took a three week research trip to Pennsylvania and Ohio,
covering almost 2000 miles. I traveled from York Co., PA to Cleveland,
Ohio with many stops in between. Nothing can compare to onsite
research, and this was the trip of a lifetime. I kept a diary of the
trip and have

was generated by a wonderful program called
GedHTree.
